Amanada Mann
From an early age I enjoyed being active. Growing up and throughout my school years I took part in many sports and competed in gymnastics at a national level. With sport playing such a big part of my life, it was inevitable that my chosen career would be in health and fitness. From my early career teaching gymnastics and trampolining classes right up to managing many prestigious health clubs in London and Surrey, fitness and well-being have always been at the core of my career.
I discovered Pilates in 2000 when I was recovering from an injury sustained whilst running marathons. It was suggested as a form of rehab, however I found myself falling in love with its principles and holistic approach. It was similar to the benefits I had experienced when training as a gymnast as it offered improved body awareness, flexibility, mobility and core strength. With regular practice, I found it restored my body’s natural balance and soon realised that it was the element missing from my weekly schedule.
I was so impressed with the benefits that I wanted to share these with others. I enrolled with Michael King Pilates to train as a Pilates teacher and gained my qualification in March 2000.
I very quickly built up a client base and was privileged to train Juliette Binoche in her dressing room at Shepperton studios whilst in production of the film ‘Chocolat’. I continued to teach Pilates and a variety of classes whilst working as a General Manager and now have over 20 years teaching experience.
Since becoming a mother I have decided to, once again, make teaching my focus. Not only has Pilates had a positive effect on my post natal body, the flexibility of teaching classes allows me to spend more time with my daughter and husband.
I like to stay abreast of fitness trends and be a leader in the market to ensure I am offering the best possible service to my clients and members. I do this by regularly undertaking new training and refresher courses.
